Vocational Service

Sunrise Rotary supports a student scholarship at Heartland Community College.  We also honor an individual with the “Education Ambassador” designation.  The Education Ambassador, formerly “Teacher of the Year” award, is presented to a member of the community who has exemplified the “Service Above Self” motto by through her or his work in some aspect of the educational field.  Education Ambassadors receive a dues-free one year membership in our club and a $500 award to spend on any service activity she or he performs through her or his job. Many Education Ambassadors remain in the club after their first year; we are grateful for their presence as well as what they do in our educational systems!
